Terms & Conditions

For the Guitar Practice Timer app, the guitarpracticetimer.com website, and the optional Premium subscription described below.

The practice timer is free, and always will be. The adjustable practice length, the enforced cooldown, the chime, and everything else the app does today stays free and fully unlocked on every platform, whether or not you ever use Premium. Premium only adds optional extras on top - it never gates or shortens the cooldown.

Using the app

Guitar Practice Timer is provided under the MIT License. In plain terms: you can use it, share it, and inspect its source freely. It is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind - I make it carefully and test it before every release, but I can't promise it will be free of bugs or fit for every purpose, and I'm not liable for any loss arising from using it.

Not yet available

Premium subscription

Premium is planned but not released yet. These terms are published in advance, before launch, so anyone considering it can read the rules first rather than after paying. They will apply once Premium ships, and this page will be updated - with the date below changing - if anything here does.

What it is

Premium is an optional set of additional practice tools - importing your own audio, trimming a section, looping it, and related tempo tools - built on top of the free timer, not a replacement for it. It has no effect on the timer, the cooldown, or any other feature described on the home page, all of which remain free and unrestricted for every user.

Billing

Premium is offered as a monthly subscription, and separately as a one-time purchase for a permanent unlock. Payment is processed by Stripe; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay, with no hidden charges added afterwards.

Cancelling

You can cancel a Premium subscription at any time. Cancelling stops future billing - it does not end Premium immediately. Premium stays active for the rest of the period you've already paid for, and simply doesn't renew after that.

Refunds

Payments for Premium are non-refundable. This applies to a subscription period already billed and to the one-time unlock alike. The only exception is where the law that applies to you grants you a right this policy cannot remove - for example, a statutory cancellation or withdrawal right for consumers in some countries. Nothing here takes away a right you have by law; it simply means no refunds are offered beyond it.

The one network check

Outside of Premium, the app makes no network connections of any kind - see the Privacy Policy for the full statement. Premium is the single, deliberate exception: to confirm an active subscription or unlock, the app checks a small, signed license record tied to your purchase. That check does not send your name, your practice activity, or anything about how you use the app - only enough to confirm the license is valid. It happens only for people who have chosen to use Premium; the free timer never makes this or any other network call.

The website

The website is informational, for downloading the app and learning about it. Its own data practices - analytics, hosting, downloads - are covered in the Privacy Policy, not repeated here.

Changes

If these terms change, the updated version is published on this page with a new date below. A change that affects Premium pricing or billing would also be shown at checkout before you pay, and never applied retroactively to a period you've already paid for.
